Note: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to begin their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to go next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the party reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them few options but to travel to the northern region in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Questers and Schemers tables.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which characters will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
